The short answer is it is free to you, the business owner. There is no cost to engage in our services and you are not obligated to select one of our partner accountants even if you have had a free consultation with them.
Many accountants, particularly in the SME marketplace are experts within their fields and provide a great service. Yet, frequently do not have dedicated resources to engage new potential customers. We provide an additional way of matching the best accountants with ambitious businesses, without the accountant having to employ people specifically for this task.
Our partner accountants pay us a small fee for facilitating the introduction between the parties. This cost is not passed on to the business owner, as they are already making other savings by partnering with us.
We only work with qualified Chartered Accountants. This means they will all have at least one director or partner who has achieved their qualifications through ACCA, ICAEW, CIMA or ICAS in Scotland. This ensures the best levels of professional standards. Whilst we would still encourage you to perform your own due diligence before deciding whether to use their services, you can be assured these things have been considered before we agree to work with an accountant.
More than this, we seek to understand the areas that our partner accountants specialise in, so we can create the most appropriate match for you when we understand your business and its unique needs.
Technology plays an increasingly important role, and we check which cloud accounting platforms our partners support.
Lastly, we believe that service and communication are key pillars in a successful relationship between business and accountant. We seek to understand how our partner accountants typically communicate with their customers, how proactive they are with their planning and consultation and how committed they are to going above and beyond in the pursuit of great service.
Part of our service is in understanding the nature of your unique needs. Whilst every business is different the factors that tend to be important are turnover, tax posture, cost of current services, the nature of the services you expect to require in the future, and the level of service you wish to receive from your accountant.
We have already done the hard work on creating a list of accountants that can meet different needs, are highly qualified and have a track record of delivering great service.
Once we’ve made an introduction, there is no cost to you and you are not obliged to proceed any further if you do not feel the accountant can meet your needs.
In short, no. Whilst this used to be important, modern technology such as cloud accounting software and online communication tools mean this is less important. What is more important is that the accountant has the specialist skills needed to meet your needs and can give you the service you require.
If you particularly require a local accountant, the probability is high that we are already partnering with chartered accountants near you that can serve your needs.

Our partner accountants have very well defined processes for handling this for you. They will typically take care of contacting your existing accountant to request professional clearance so they can start work for you in a reasonable time. The process rarely takes more than a few weeks. Our partner accountants are mindful to reduce the impact to you with this process.
Once we have spoken with you, if you are happy for us to make an introduction to the recommended partner accountant we will share with them the data you have provided with us.
Your data is not used for any other purpose. It is not shared with any other third party and is kept completely confidential.
